GRASP Rocks!
Dear Parents/Guardians, October 5, 2012
Hello again! This week GRASP students were very busy getting to know all the new rules, playing games and learning different strategies to stand up against bullies. As some of you may know, October is “Anti-Bullying Month.” We talked about how there are many different types of bullying and then we practiced different strategies to try and overcome some of the bullying that is happening. Many of the students made posters to support anti-bullying and those will be hanging up around the elementary school. Please stop in and take a look at them! The students were very creative while making their posters.
Next week in GRASP we are going to be focusing on the Fall season. When we look outside we can see all the trees are starting to lose their leaves and the grass is starting to change colors. Many of the students told me they love to jump in leaves, rake leaves and pick pumpkins. Therefore, we will be taking a look at all the different changes that happen in the Fall and why.
Next Week’s Agenda
· Monday- Creative leaf project
· Tuesday- Gym activityàParachute
· Wednesday- Scavenger/leaf hunt
· Thursday- Life/Family collage
· Friday- Wizard of Oz (rated G)
I really enjoy getting to know the students that attend GRASP. I would personally like to invite all students to GRASP. Every day we are making memories and having fun! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child in the upcoming weeks. Please feel free to contact me at anytime with any questions or concerns. You can contact me by email at Whitney.Daly@k12.sd.us. I look forward to meeting you!
